I taught myself to use Adobe Captivate round about 2004 while I was still a Master’s student. I used it to create software simulations and tutorials for Blackboard LMS support at Syracuse University. The software was not as robust then and ownership belonged to Macromedia. Adobe acquired Macromedia in 2006. Captivate has now become a full-fledged elearning authoring tool.
