Desiring to Learn is Not Enough by Itself

I’ve enrolled in numerous MOOCs and finished just one — so far. I think I may have found another that I will complete: UQx: Think 101x The Science of Everyday…

Group Learning

At work, there was substantial discussion around the terms collaborative work, cooperative work, team work and group work — all focused on making the OLE (Online Learning Experience) a perfect experience…

As an online introduction, Tina Seelig invited us — participants in her MOOC — to design an album cover of our lives to construct a narrative of who we are.…

Olé, Olé, Olé

According to Wikipedia (Oops! The mention of this word might start a friendly argument!), the word “olé” might refer to several things, including a football chant, with the star footballer’s…

    Adobe Aero: #30DaysXR #Day5

    January 25, 2022 /

I do like Adobe Aero. The app is still in beta version and so is still buggy. Here’s an AR card I made by following James Zachary’s tutorial. AR Interactive Card

Learning Figma and CoSpaces (#30DaysXR, Day 4?)

    January 20, 2022 /

I’ve been busy setting up my new MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip (16GB, 1 TB). I had to upgrade my 2018 MacBook Pro because learning to build XR apps had eaten up all my hard disk space. Unity3D, XCode, Visual Studio for Mac, VRoid, and all the other apps I had to install to make the assets had me down to my final 30 GB of space, and the laptop just couldn’t run fast enough. Folks, XR is an expensive venture! I did not continue with the School of…

Simple AR Layering with Halo AR App (#30DaysXR, #Day3)

    January 12, 2022 /

Today, I finally completed a halo using the Halo AR app. It took me a while to figure out how to use it from start to finish (sharing the finished product). There was little or no documentation, but there was a Discord channel for Halo creators, so that helped me a bit. There was one YouTube video on how to create a halo, but it was still rather unclear. If you need some info, contact me. Essentially, here are some instructions that have been left out: You must create the…

    360VR Brief Intro (#30DaysXR, #Day 2)

    January 12, 2022 /

Alright, another introduction, but this time using 360VR. The software I’m learning to use is CoSpaces. I love it. It has a supportive user community made of educators. [Updated: Jan 20, 2022]   My first inroad to CoSpaces was through a friend, Micah, who taught me to build my first Jenga game for a MIT xPRO course I designed.   My next project in CoSpaces is to build an escape room. Watch this space!

Interactive Augmented Reality (AR) Business Card (#30DaysXR, Day 1)

    January 3, 2022 /

YouTube is a treasure trove of learning possibilities. My latest and first 2022 learning adventure involved learning to build an AR-enhanced business card. Voila! Here it is. To play in AR mode, scan the QR code. You can download a QR code scanner from your mobile phone’s store (Apple App store or Google Play). Acknowledgements: Much appreciation to Monica of Academic Phoenix Plus for the tutorials. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the world.
