It’s Official! I’m a Verified Adobe Certified Professional in Captivate
I am feeling emotional about this accomplishment; it has been a journey to get to this destination. I taught myself to use Adobe Captivate round about 2004 while I was still a Master’s student. I used it to create software simulations and tutorials for Blackboard LMS support at Syracuse University. The software was not as robust then and ownership belonged to Macromedia. Adobe acquired Macromedia in 2006.
Captivate has now become a full-fledged elearning authoring tool. It has extended its capabilities to many possibilities. I was amazed when I picked it up last year again to begin authoring digital content. Lest I turn this into a Captivate promo, I’ll just talk a bit more about how I’m learning a lot about it and will keep learning to use its many features: virtual reality, responsive design, advanced actions and variables.
Though there had been a gap of several years since I last used the software, it was not difficult at all for me to start using it again. The brain has infinite plasticity. I’m no neuroscientist, but it was possible to navigate around the interface and figure out quite intuitively, how to use its many features. It could be because I’m an Adobe Creative Cloud user, and am able to connect Adobe timelines and multimedia terms across software platforms.
Here’s to more applications of Adobe Captivate for the greater good of humanity!
